The Ashby Big Band are a 16 piece Big Band. Where space or budget is a constraint they are happy to reduce the band down to the 8 piece Ashby "little" Big Band, or 5/6 piece Ashby Tea Dance Band
They perform throughout the country at a variety of events including1940s Hangar Dances. They are currently the preferred dance band for the Guernsey Liberation Ball, Rauceby War Weekend, Crich Tramway 1940s Weekend and Black Country Living Museum's 1940s event.
Based in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, they have regular free to enter Wednesday night open rehearsals in Loughborough. Also currently playing twice monthly Friday night dances at Matlock.
Resident vocalists are Sarah Woodall and Kevin McCracken.
